I was walking to BART after work today when this sign stopped me in my tracks. I had missed last year’s cameo appearance by the James Perse sample sale in SoMa  (near Montgomery and Howard) when I happily stumbled upon this new location. Turns out the sale had just popped up in another spot in the Financial District.

For those of you who missed the first round, this one goes through Sunday, on the corner of Sutter and Kearny, in the space recently occupied by Loehmann’s Mens’ Store. The sale attendants were still unpacking fresh boxes of Perse’s men’s and women’s signature slouchy T-shirts, tanks, premium denim jeans, and cargo pants when I got there at 6 p.m. today. But already the after-work crowds were starting to swarm like bees, which means stock will likely go pronto.

Oh, and here’s something unexpected to look forward to: live music while you shop. This guy was playing a pretty good rendition of Damien Rice’s “The Blower’s Daughter” while I was scouring the racks. Random, and slightly confusing, but cool nevertheless!
